1860 Colt Fluted Army Confederate used

This Historic Old Colt # 2787 was one of 1000 that Ben McCulloch, Indian fighter, Texas Ranger, United States marshal, and brigadier general in the Army of the Confederate States of America, Ordered from his old friend Colonel Sam Colt for the state of Texas, They were shipped to Kittredge & Folsom in New Orleans, this one was shipped March 28 1861 as stated in the Colt Factory Letter. The pistols made their way to Texas + were issued to Texas troops, Ben McCulloch ( Google the name for more history )was Killed at Pea Ridge, or Elkhorn Tavern, on March 7, 1862. This well used Colt is all matching , including the wedge, the action works, locks up tight, mainspring is strong, cylinder is a little loose on shaft, all of the inards look like old original parts, the barrel address is very faint but you can tell where it starts + ends, all other markings are legible, looks like the pistol was cleaned long ago leaving it shiney with scattered pitting, grips are charred a bit on the left side, better on the right, rounded a bit at the toes, bore is ok.
