This is a Whitney Navy .36 Cal., 6 shot, 2nd Model, 3rd Type. Made in the late 1850's to early 1860's. Saftey notches on back of cylinder. Wedge type lever catch. Barrel, lever & frame all match, Ser. #14648. Cylinder scenes were very lightly stamped on these pistols, traces of scene visible on cylinder. This is a well used gun, good tight action, small amount of strong silver on protected areas of trigger guard. Grips are cutout for lanyard on bottom, a little wood loss at toes and heels.
