1841 Mississipi Rifle Mfg at Harpers Ferry, 1853 date matches on lock + barrel, J.L.R. inspectors marks on left side of stock, proof marks on barrel visible. All parts on rifle correct + matching for this manufacturer, stock is solid with nice color, no burnout around nipple area, has spare nipple in patchbox, there are a few dings + light scratches in wood. Brass has a nice color, patchbox door apears to have had sticker or label removed showing a cleaned spot ( see pic ) Steel or iron parts show a nice even color, very light pitting to surfaces of barrel,lock functions crisp + smoothly , has both swivels that work. Good solid piece at a fair price on todays market
